Violent, Racist Deportations of Haitian Refugees is Beyond the Pale
The following is a joint statement from Alianza Americas and Presente.org in response to the mass expulsions of Haitian refugees by the Biden-Harris administration:
βWhat we have witnessed over the last few days is despicable, inhumane, and resembles a page out of the Trump playbook. Haitian refugees being met with whips by Border Patrol agents, packed into planes and deported to Haiti is indicative of an immigration system rooted in white supremacy. We demand that all deportations be stopped immediately, and that the administration once and for all end Title 42. The first step to addressing the root causes of forced migration is welcoming refugees with humanitarian support including access to shelter, food, legal assistance, and healthcare,β said Mirtha Colon, Alianza Americas board president, as well as president of the Central American Black Organization.
βAnti-Black violence and racism from the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) blaring on our TV screens, newspapers, and social media feeds mirrors the images of bounty hunters from old films glorifying slavery and colonization. The Biden Administrationβs treatment of Haitian and Central American refugees is abhorrent. The administration needs to end expulsions of Haitians and Central American nationals immediately, hold law enforcement officers accountable, terminate Title 42, and immediately grant humanitarian relief and protection to Haitian, Central American, and other asylum seekers,β said Leticia Casildo, an Alianza Americas board member, as well as executive director at the New Orleans-based Familias Unidas en AcciΓ³n.

Las deportaciones violentas y racistas de personas haitianas en bΓΊsqueda de refugio son aborrecedoras
La siguiente es una declaraciΓ³n conjunta de Alianza Americas y Presente.org en respuesta a las expulsiones masivas de personas haitianas en bΓΊsqueda de refugio por parte de la administraciΓ³n Biden-Harris:
βLo que hemos presenciado en los ΓΊltimos dΓas es despreciable, inhumano y se parece a una pΓ‘gina del libro de jugadas de Trump. Los refugiados haitianos que son recibidos con lΓ‘tigos por agentes de la Patrulla Fronteriza, empacados en aviones y deportados a HaitΓ es indicativo de un sistema de inmigraciΓ³n arraigado en la supremacΓa blanca. Exigimos que todas las deportaciones se detengan de inmediato y que la administraciΓ³n Biden acabe de una vez por todas con el uso de la ley conocida como TΓtulo 42, bajo la cual se estΓ‘n justificando estas expulsiones. El primer paso para abordar las causas fundamentales de la migraciΓ³n forzada es dar la bienvenida a los refugiados con apoyo humanitario, incluido el acceso a un techo seguro, alimentos, asistencia jurΓdica y atenciΓ³n mΓ©dica,β declarΓ³ Mirtha ColΓ³n, presidenta de la junta directiva de Alianza Americas, asΓ como presidenta de la OrganizaciΓ³n Negra Centroamericana (ONECA).

El trato de la administraciΓ³n Biden a los refugiados haitianos y centroamericanos es aborrecible.
