A Prosperous Future for Honduras? Experts Discuss

 

Part 3: Honduras

WHAT: As part of the ongoing series “A Prosperous Future is Possible: Conversations About Mexico and Central America,” Alianza Americas and Presente.org will host a live conversation, this time focused on Honduras, this Wednesday, August 18. The conversation will feature civil society leaders and experts based in Honduras who will discuss topics including alternative economic models that break the cycle of inequality, land defense against extractive projects and the Zone for Employment and Economic Development (ZEDES), the rule of law, and the 2021 elections. Throughout the series, panelists will discuss and explore structural solutions to problems such as poverty, corruption, the climate crisis, and existing anti-democratic and authoritarian practices. It’s imperative that the voices of Latin American leaders from the region working on an array of issues share their perspectives and solutions.

Expertos analizan en una conversación en vivo este miércoles 18 de agosto

QUÉ: Como parte de la serie “Un futuro próspero es posible: Conversaciones críticas sobre México y Centroamérica”, Alianza Americas y Presente.org presentarán la conversación en vivo “Un futuro próspero es posible: Conversaciones críticas sobre México y Centroamérica: Parte 3: Honduras”, este miércoles 18 de agosto. La conversación contará con líderes de la sociedad civil y expertos basados en México que discutirán temas como los prospectos económicos, la defensa del territorio ante proyectos extractivistas y las Zonas de Empleo y Desarrollo Económico (ZEDES), el Estado de Derecho, y las Elecciones Generales 2021. A lo largo de la serie, las personas panelistas discutirán y explorarán soluciones estructurales a problemas como la pobreza, la corrupción, la crisis climática y las prácticas antidemocráticas y autoritarias que dominan la mayoría de estos países. Es imperativo que las voces de los líderes latinoamericanos de la región que trabajan en una variedad de temas compartan sus perspectivas y soluciones.
