A Year After Central America Hurricanes, Granting a New Designation for Temporary Protected Status Remains Urgent
In November 2020, Central America was pummeled by two devastating hurricanes just two weeks apart that caused widespread flooding and landslides, impacting more than 7.5 million people in the region. Thousands of people were displaced and many lives were lost due to the storms.
