Dreamers, TPS Holders Need Solutions Now
Migrant Communities Demand โYesโ Vote to Permanent Protections
Migrant community members will urge senators to vote ‘yes’ on the American Dream and Promise Act of 2021, the SECURE Act, and DREAM Act Wednesday during a virtual press conference of grassroots organizations. Many hold out hope that these bills will be the best chance of finally achieving permanent protections after years of uncertainty.
The event will include harrowing testimony from community members from throughout the nation talking about the difficulties of working on the pandemic’s frontlines as undocumented workers and the need to pass a bill that will address the inequalities for people who live and work without permanent status.
Advocates continue to fight for legislation with bipartisan support while demanding that the American Dream and Promise Act of 2021โs problematic aspects be eliminated. Long-term immigration reform hinges on bills that were introduced during President Joe Biden’s first 100 days in office, following promises that along with control of the U.S. Senate, U.S. House, and Presidency, meaningful reform could finally be achieved.
