National Civil Rights Group, Presente.org, issues statement on the upcoming Supreme Court decision regarding DAPA and DACA

April 17, 2016

On Monday (April 18) the US Supreme Court takes up what is considered the biggest immigration case in a century, United States v. Texas. This case will affect millions of migrant families across the country and will determine if President Obama's DAPA and expanded DACA executive orders issued in 2014 will remain.

Statement from Matt Nelson, Managing Director, Presente.org:

"We expect the Supreme Court to see this anti-migrant lawsuit for the hateful sham that it is. From the day President Obama took office, immigrant and Latino communities have fought to win a strong executive order and the progress and dignity that comes with it. The lawsuit before the Supreme Court was filed by stubborn anti-migrant politicians to go before anti-migrant judges—all in an attempt to take this victory and our humanity away from us. No amount of anti-migrant politicians or judges will ever be able to stop millions of us from marching towards our freedom and full humanity.”
