Presente.org’s Managing Director, Matt Nelson, issued the following statement:

"Tonight's results in Iowa emphasize the necessity of the Democratic Party to be a clear alternative to the hate-filled, fear-driven leading candidates for the Republican nomination. As the Republican party descends deeper into White Supremacist, anti-immigrant views, we call on the Democratic candidates and their party to give complete support to the true democratic values of civil rights, equal opportunity, fairness, and compassion. Latino voters are becoming more and more important to this election and it will be up to the candidates, especially from the Democratic Party, to show that they are pro-Latino and pro-immigrant."
