Sen. Merkley Joins Wide-Ranging Coalition in Saying There is No Place for a White Supremacist, Anti-Semitic Misogynist in the White House

WASHINGTON, DC -- On Thursday, December 8, a coalition of progressive organizations will deliver more than 1 million petition signatures to members of Congress on Capitol Hill urging them to oppose and denounce President-elect Trump’s appointment of Steve Bannon to be chief White House strategist and senior counsel.
The coalition, which includes organizations like Presente.org, MoveOn.org, MomsRising, Free Press Action Fund, MPower Change Action, UltraViolet Action, Win Without War, Friends of the Earth, Daily Kos, Courage Campaign, NARAL Pro-Choice America, J Street, Jewish Voice for Peace, Demand Progress, ClimateTruth.org, Muslim Public Affairs Council and Bend the Arc Jewish Action argue that there is no place for a white supremacist, anti-Semitic, climate-change denying misogynist in the White House.
Senator Jeff Merkley, who led a Senate letter calling on Trump to rescind Bannon’s appointment and stand up against the wave of hate crimes sweeping the nation, will join the coalition delivery and press conference.
