Statement from Presente.org on Michael Brown Murder Grand Jury Decision

Nov. 25, 2014

Statement from Mariana Ruiz, Managing Director of Presente.org:

“The decision in Ferguson to not indict Darren Wilson is a painful reminder of the value we place on black and brown lives in America. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Michael Brown, and the families of countless black and brown youth who have been gunned down by police with impunity. The time has come for change: we will not stand for Jim Crow injustice any longer. The Department of Justice should act immediately to prosecute Darren Wilson, and it's time for a fair judicial process that implements tangible protections from police by requiring all law enforcement to wear body cameras so that they can no longer commit crimes without consequence."
