Presente.org Statement on President Obama’s Immigration Speech in San Francisco

Nov. 25, 2013

Following President Obama’s immigration policy speech in San Francisco in which he was heckled for enforcement-centric policies and an emphasis on deportation, Arturo Carmona, Executive Director of Presente.org, the largest national Latino online advocacy organization in the country, issued the following statement:

“President Obama's ability to divert attention away from his deportation policies with empty speeches is crumbling. As the heckler, those protesting outside the speech and activists across the country know, the President has the power to halt his destructive deportations and must use it now. Until he stops the deportations, we will only escalate against him and his policies further. He can't fool us anymore.”
