Presente.org Statement on Obama's Immigration Speech

Oct. 24, 2013

"President Obama's speech on immigration sounded nice, but rings hollow next to the cries of the children and families whose loved one he is deporting at a rate of more than 1,000 per day. While important, the President's denouncing of Republicans for their lack of support for immigration reform is an insult to the intelligence and integrity of anyone who knows that the President is about to reach the 2 million deportations mark, and breaking his own deportation record in the process. Real immigration reform is not about empty speeches. It's about President Obama using his executive authority to stop this disaster of failed immigration policies and practices."
