Tell Sen. Chuck Schumer that you want him to invite a Latino undocumented worker to the next hearing
Maria Reyes, a 66-year-old mother, was detained for more than eight hours when she attended a Senate hearing on immigration reform where no undocumented Latino immigrants were given an opportunity to testify.
As Director of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano took the microphone, Maria Reyes stood up and called for an end to the deportations that tear apart our families. For this brave act to make her voice be heard, she was detained.
We're the people who are going to be most affected by immigration reform. We should have a voice when people are called to testify about this issue.
