Presente.org does not accept money from corporate lobbyists, and that means we get to represent the true voice of our membership — you. As people of all political stripes in DC buzz about “immigration reform” pushes in 2013, we will be working to define what real reform that puts people above politics looks like.
We’ll be pushing stories, arts, and culture to the media that highlights:
- Leave no one behind: Immigration reform must find a pathway to citizenship for the over 11 million undocumented immigrants -- nothing less.
- Migration as beautiful: Rejecting the ideas of immigrants as “criminals,” increased border enforcement, and jailing in exchange for limited relief.
- Real Immigration Reform that must reach past citizenship and legalization -- accompanied by an end to harsh enforcement practices that tear families apart.
Over the next few months, we’ll be delivering your petitions and comments straight to the folks making decisions in DC, and we’ll be tapping into our network of powerful culture-makers to push this message front and center in creative ways.
In the past, you’ve helped us fly planes over legislator meetings and fund DREAMers walking from Miami to DC to share their stories. You were a big part of the reason DREAMers received relief this year. Will you join us again so we can do even bigger things next year?
