AUGUST 26, 2012 / BY JESUS IÑIGUEZ Juliana: Why I'm Motivated To Vote

We've been reaching out to Presente.org members around to country to ask them why they are motivated to vote.  Here is Juliana's story:

I am motivated to vote because I cannot imagine a world in which Mitt Romney is the most powerful person in the world. Already, under the Obama administration, I am watching as women's rights are being attacked, cutting down reproductive health choices and access.

I am watching Latinos being racially profiled, and our history being denied in public school classes. Immigrants are being criminalized, and Latina women taking the hardest hit of all. I do my best to address these concerns in my own work, but awareness is not enough. Awareness is just a means to action, and my action is voting.
